Latin Extravaganza!

Kimihia Staff Compete to Win a Conference Trip

Friday 25 July 2008 saw the team at Kimihia at their creative best! They were given the opportunity to compete to win a training trip away at the HCPNZ Conference at Sky City Auckland. The conference programme this year includes extensive training by renowned Dementia Specialist, Jane Verity who developed the "Spark of Life" programme for Dementia Care.

Kimihia is developing a specialised Dementia Care Service, and as part of that programme, staff are undergoing extensive training in Dementia Care. So, the opportunity for three staff to compete for a place to study at Jane's feet was welcomed by the team! To win the prize, staff had to dress up in flamboyant Latin style. This fits in with the HCPNZ Conference Dinner theme. The three winners will have to pull their costumes out of the wardrobe one last time to dress up for the dinner.

Competition Judges BeckyZhang, Ingrid Berry (General Manager) and Malinda Van Zyl consider the efforts of competitors.

Competition sponsor, Marie Huggard from Friends of Kimihia comperes the spectacular event. Mel-the-maintenance-man dons his best italian suit to accompany the 'models'!
